I love the bullet point format. :)

I spend 100% of my time writing thing in outline format. Notes for class. To do lists. Meeting notes. Conference call notes. Agendas for the aforementioned meetings/calls. Outlines for journals that I will never make time to expand on.

Interesting thought: Maybe only art that identifies as Christian art is shitty (similar to a lot of the music that identifies as Christian music). I am sure that in the case of art and music, a lot of it has Christian themes or motivations, but the artists don't choose to promote it in that frame (no pun intended).

Fun fact for the day: NYC is farther away from Oregon that where you currently live. Just think about that. <3

Why do I only comment on your blog when I have a paper due the next day... Oh yeah, procrastination.

Just today I started pondering a blog of my own. I want to post projects that I'm working on. Links to documents and resources that I create. For example, I just filled out an application to for a co-director position for SPROG (summer environmental leadership training thingy). It would be cool to have a blog to post that. And when I write final papers for classes, those are cool to share too. Basically, it would contain anything I *create* and put time/energy into. I'm excited at the possibilities.

That is sweet Bethany! I have a job in NYC easily, but only because of specialty coffee. I also plan on moving with my friend kristen, and I know of a church out there that I would intend on attending (River Vineyard in Manhattan, google it, they are loosely connected to the church I currently attend).

LA would be cool too, but if you are looking for the 'big city' feel, LA isn't it. LA is more like a ton of suburbs connected by a couple of skyscrapers and lexus dealerships.

You updated. I'm thrilled to bits! It's making my dreary day better than the lousy football game going on downstairs.

NYC? Are you serious?! That's so awesome because I've been contemplating a MWlike move lately now that i am jobless. To LA or NYC. Nyc is 3 1/2 hours away from me. If we would both end up there it'd be sweet to connect with a church. i know some people there too. I'd just need the whole job, money, roommate thing solved. wicked. ( and i don't mean the musical). Keep me posted. wherever you move that's awesome.

"Coffee is one of the greatest things that has happened to me." Ditto
"when put in contrast with shitty Christian art today, is some of it due to apathy" There was a time when art was considered necessary for the sacred experience of meeting with God (Cathedrals). Then there was a time when art was considered worldly, secular, ungodly, whatever (the last couple hundred years of protestantism). Only now are we beginning to realize that:
--there really isn't a division between sacred and secular, and
--art is a wonderful way of expressing, communicating, worshiping.
No wonder we haven't got very far past kitcshy/shitty.
